May 30, 2015. Demolition of old Sunnyside Commons buildings opens viewshed of Mon. River Valley.
June 11, 2015. The viewshed expands as Sunnyside Commons and brush disappear and parking for the new ACC buildings is created.

June 1, 2015. The gray building just to the right of University Place marks the spot of the 4 story residential structure represented by the main image (above) on this page. The gray building will be demolished to make it possible to widen University Avenue at that point, making way for a reconfigured intersection and a turning lane into the parking garage.
June 24, 2015. Work continues on the parking area up hill from the new residence halls to be build on level with University Ave. The parking area under construction in the foreground is right next to Jones Ave. at the top of the ACC site.
July 21, 2015. Retaining walls necessary for each level of parking due to steepness of hill.
July 24, 2015. In foreground, excavation continues on development of parking for the ACC development.

October 20, 2015. The gray swath in the center of the photo is base gravel laid for paving of University Ave. The construction going on in the foreground is the main building for American Campus Communities' student residential hall right on University Ave.
October 20, 2015. The green structure is the main ACC Building from the level of Beverly and University Avenues. The new curbs for Beverly Ave., Third Street and U. Ave. show the area where these three streets intersect. A new traffic signal will be installed for control of both pedestrian and vehicles. That is the parking garage to the irght in the photo.

Very instructive to watch such a complex development settle into a hillside. One is not always privileged to have the vantage on the construction such as we have from Highview Place. Will post a photo soon showing Highview Place itself.
